SmartBahi is a digital ledger and khatabook application that helps users manage customer accounts, credit/debit entries, transactions, and financial records securely and efficiently.
Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use our application.
1. Information We Collect
We collect only what we need to run the service:
- Mobile number — for registration, OTP login, account verification, and fraud prevention.
- Ledger & financial data — customer names, transaction records, credit/debit entries, payment history, and notes you add. Stored securely and used only to provide app functionality.
- Device information — device type, Android version, app version, and crash diagnostics, to improve performance and security.
2. SMS Permission Usage
SmartBahi may request SMS permission solely to automatically read OTP messages for mobile number verification.
We do NOT read your personal SMS, we do NOT store private SMS content, and we do NOT share SMS data with third parties. SMS access is used only for OTP verification, in line with Google Play policies.
3. Contacts Permission Usage
SmartBahi may request access to your phone contacts only to make adding a customer easier — so you can pick a name and number from your address book instead of typing it in. Granting this is optional; you can always add customers manually.
We access contacts only at the moment you choose one while adding a customer. We do NOT upload or store your full contact list, we do NOT read contacts in the background, and we do NOT share contact data with third parties. Only the customer you select is saved to your ledger, in line with Google Play policies.
4. How We Use Your Information

5. Data Sharing & Third Parties
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information. We may share limited information only:

- With trusted service providers needed to operate the app (such as OTP verification or cloud hosting)
- To protect the rights, safety, and security of users and the platform

We use appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure.
7. Data Retention
We keep your information only as long as needed to provide services, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. You may request deletion of your account and data by contacting us.
